Moot Certificates

Well done Kyla. During MOOT time today Kyla was showing respect to other children when she was playing in the sandpit. Kyla was being kind and sharing with others. Well done to everyone else too.

What a wonderful day we had at Aotea Lagoon. The sun was hiding for most of the time, so we didn't get too hot. We walked with our whanau buddy to the lagoon and had lunch with them too. Then we were allowed to play on the playground. We were all very tired by the time we had to come home!

Our Safety Walk

Today we went on a walk down to the kindy. We were learning about crossing the road safely and watching out for sneaky driveways. We know that we have to Stop, Look, Listen and Link hands before we cross the road.

After that we walked to the bottom field to see the new fence on the bank. Now we all know that it is out of bounds past the fence. 

Then we had a run around the bottom field. On the way back to Rata we had a look at the swimming pool. We can't wait till it's our turn for swimming in our nice warm pool.

Friday MOOT

Custom Glitter Text

M.O.O.T. - Managing Our Own Time is an activity-based programme that we have every Friday in Rata. It gives all children an opportunity to choose activities that motivate and engage them. 
We have a Social Skills focus for every session. This week our focus was Respect. We talked about what that looks like and sounds like while the children are busy during their activities. Certificates are given at the end of each session to children that display great Social Skills when interacting with other children.

Well done Rhoswen, Bobby, Ollie and Gabriel.

Fire Safety

We had a Fire drill at school. We learned that it's really important that we all line up and get out of our classrooms quickly. The whole school gathered down on the bottom field together. We did a really great job of our fire drill practice.

We also watched a video of Sparky teaching us about fire safety too.

Today we have been buddy reading with the big kids in Kauri.
