We have been learning about how we get day and night.
Today we did some role-play using an Earth ball, a torch for the Sun and a plastic Moon on a stick. 
Jethro was our Sun and he stayed still in the middle while the Earth rotated around the Sun. At the same time, the Moon had to rotate around the Earth. It was a bit tricky, but it helped us understand how we get day and night.

Team Work at Moot Time

We worked together to make a tower that would reach up to the ceiling! 

Our tower broke when we made it really tall but we think we did a great

job of working together.

Rata Toru Gymnasts

For Maths we are talking about 2D and 3D shapes. We had fun

using lots of different equipment and we turned 2D shapes into 3D shapes. We learnt that 2D shapes are flat and 3D shapes aren't flat. 3D shapes have a space inside them.

Every Tuesday Rata Toru go to the Hall for gymnastics for the next 8 weeks. We had great fun today swinging, rolling, bouncing, jumping, catching, landing and balancing! Keep an eye on our blog as we practise our new skills every week.
